Holocaust Heritage & Learning Centre

During 2016 Emma worked with the Leeds-based Holocaust Survivors' Friendship Association on a capital bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund. The HLF established a partnership with the University of Huddersfield with the intention of creating a Holocaust Heritage and Learning Centre in the new Heritage Quay development on the university campus.

Emma worked with the HSFA on the Stage 2 HLF bid which was submitted in March 2016. She wrote the Activity Plan and Interpretation Plan, and contributed content to the Business Plan. All three are key supporting documents for an HLF bid. The concept includes an exhibition and learning space through which the partnership plans to offer learning and engagement programmes for schools and the local community.

The project secured support from the Heritage Lottery Fund in July 2016.  Having worked with the HSFA on a number of learning projects since 2009, we were pleased to be able to contribute to this important project that will secure the living legacy of Holocaust survivors in Yorkshire and communicate it to future generations.
