Hadrian's Wall Business Plan

Landscape view of Hadrian's Wall in winter by stuandsamThe Hadrian's Wall World Heritage site is Britain's most spectacular Roman monument.  It stretches 150 miles from Arbeia fort in the east to Ravenglass on the Cumbrian coast.  Millions of visitors a year enjoy a diverse range of exceptional museums, forts, archaeological sites and landscapes across the length of the wall.

Emma worked with Alison Bodley to develop a business plan for the Hadrian's Wall Education Forum to make the case for more collaborative learning programmes across the Wall.  Proposals for a costed, four-year programme of development for schools and families will foster enjoyment, understanding and creativity and make clear links between the Roman heritage and contemporary themes such as frontiers, conflict, citizenship and biodiversity. The plan is now being used as the basis of funding applications to secure financial support.
